Gordon Sheffer joined the
Kids Alive staff in 2001, relocating from Pennsylvania. His previous
experience includes social casework, missionary to Italy, campus minister
to international students, China ministry and more recently, mission
office administrator.
At the age of 15, Gordon came to personal faith in Christ at a Christian
camp, and soon after accepted God’s call to a career in cross-cultural
ministry. His formal education took place at Asbury College in Kentucky
and the Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack NY.
"It is my joy in life to find ways to insure that our missionaries, our
service team members, and our national leaders and staff around the world
get resourced with the tools they need so they can provide quality care
for the growing number of children in our care,” says Gordon.
Gordon and his wife, Barbara, have two grown children. Their son, Adam,
briefly served at the Kids Alive Near East Boys’ Home and School in
Beirut, Lebanon in 2005 and is currently studying in a graduate program in
preparation for a career in the Middle East. Their daughter, Grace and her
husband, Kevin, live and work in central Pennsylvania. Barbara is employed
locally as a Kindergarten teacher’s assistant
