Jeff and Ann joined the Kids Alive staff in 1997, originally coming to be involved in the construction of the Ark Childrens Home. Jeff is currently serving as Regional Director, overseeing the work in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, and Peru. Jeff and Ann both have degrees from Bethel University in Minnesota in Cross Cultural Studies and Anthropology, respectively. Ann received her teaching certificate from Spearfish College and her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from National Lewis in Illinois.

In the Dominican Republic Jeff also serves as Co-Director of Kids Alive Dominican Republic with Vic and Leslie Trautwein and Ramon and Juana Prenza.  His work includes the development of new ministry sites and in organizing visiting work teams.  “ I get to touch people's lives everyday and see the changes that occur in a child's life when they are able to live in a safe, loving place.  It allows me to use my skills in various ways every day. I can share my love for Christ, work with children, work with staff and teams, and be involved in the expansion of new ministry sites.”

Ann is a busy mom, wife, and home-school teacher inside their home. She also helps with interns, service teams, teacher training, and curriculum development. “I love seeing children's lives changed. I enjoy touching kids lives but also being part of a support team so that other people can have a greater impact as they work with the children in our programs.”

The VanDerMolens have four children: Mariana, Nicolas, Lucas, and Natalie.
