Originally
from Merrillville, Indiana, Kami came to serve with Kids Alive
International after having graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a
degree in elementary education for the Christian school. While Kami
attended Moody she also worked with Sunshine Gospel Ministries, an
outreach to the children from inner-city Chicago.
During one the summer of 2002 Kami had the opportunity to serve with
Kids Alive in the Dominican Republic for 3 months. That summer had such
a great impact on her that she returned the following summer to serve
for another 3 months. After graduating from college, Kami made a 2 year
commitment to serving with Kids Alive International in the Dominican
Republic. She began her 2 year commitment in January 2004. During 2005,
Kami felt the Lord calling her to commit long term to service with Kids
Alive in the Dominican Republic. She will begin work towards a Masters
degree in Curriculum Development, and she is confident that this
education will help her in her work at CECAINI.
Kami shares that "Kids Alive is an incredible mission to serve with.
They have given me the opportunity to realize the life long dream of
working with children at risk. At a very young age God gave me a heart
for orphans, and through Kids Alive I have been able to see God's heart
for these special children."
