Educator Partnerships
School administrators and teachers in Canada, the United States and throughout the first world have access to the very best methodology and materials to do their jobs. Haiti, however, is a country where such materials and in-depth training are basically nonexistent. That is where you can make a real impact.

We want to offer anyone in the education field with a heart for missions an opportunity to play an intimate role in our school. There are a number of things you can do to help from your own home. Creole and French language skills are not even required. The areas of greatest need are developing appropriate curriculum standards for each grade and implementing effective educational theories in the classrooms. You could help us immensely by simply sending examples of lesson plans you have taught in various subjects and examples of materials and manipulatives used in classes (i.e. books, experiments, educational toys, etc.). You could also relay information to us regarding any research concerning the latest educational theories (book recommendations that will aid in the development of our teachers).

Giant strides are being made in the area of bilingual education in the first world. Bilingual educators have a wealth of knowledge to share that could aid the development of our Kids Alive® International school in Haiti. We are very interested in hearing from you concerning what you are reading and how you are conducting your classrooms.

Educators interested in becoming partners of the Kids Alive® International school in Haiti should contact us for details.

School Donations
As the country of Haiti has a very limited supply of educational materials, we at Kids Alive® International, Haiti, rely heavily on resources we find in other countries. Materials needed to give our children the best possible education include globes, science equipment, educational posters, games and videos, and the like. Individuals and groups wishing to play a part in equipping our school with these types of items are a real blessing to our educators and children in Cap Haitien.

If you would like to know how you or your group can play a part, then we would like to encourage you to contact us. You will receive specific information concerning items that are on our school's "wish list" as well us updates, should you so desire. Also, you will receive instructions on how to ship items to us in Haiti to insure that they arrive safely in the hands of our Kids Alive school staff members to be used in the classroom.

Summer Language Camps
There is no doubt that immersion is the best way to learn a second language. As Haiti has no large concentrations of native French speakers, there are no real opportunities for our children to be immersed in the language. That is where one to two week language camps can play a major role in helping our students gain the ability to speak and understand the French language.

Major subjects, such as math and science, are taught using Creole in the Kids Alive® School. However, the children also have the benefit of daily oral French classes and oral English classes twice weekly. Therefore, speakers of English can sponsor and organize language camps, as well.

Anyone interested in doing the proper research and preparation to put together a language camp in French or English is encouraged to contact us. You will receive specific information on how to get started and ongoing help throughout the process from the staff of Kids Alive® International, Haiti.
