Jimmie and Ivy Kongwa are currently the house parents of the Chikondi One Children's Home, located in the capital city of Lusaka. Currently, there are thirteen rescued children living in this home and they are now thriving in elementary schools.

Zambia is racked by the effects of the AIDS pandemic with over 1.1 million orphans (at the last government count), mostly due to AIDS. Most children have lost both or one parent including extended family members who would have taken them into their care.

The Kongwas are responsible for the administrative oversight of Kids Alive Zambia, which includes five other homes in western Zambia and three community schools. The couple is key to the success and expansion of our ministry in Zambia.
