Connie and David Rhodes joined the Kids Alive® Peru staff in July 2000. Their hometown and sending church is LaGrange Bible Church, LaGrange Illinois.

At the Lima Children’s Home where they serve, Connie oversees all health and education matters where her previous experience as an elementary and special education teacher comes in handy. She also works with short-term missionaries, service teams who come to serve in a variety of areas and oversees the Manchay Care Center – The “Cuna” – a ministry to single parents providing care for their children while they work.

Dave handles all of the maintenance-related responsibilities on all of the properties and for all of the vehicles. He oversees new construction on the sites and coordinates the service teams that travel to the field to work on building projects. Before Kids Alive® Peru, Dave worked as a millwright at Reynolds Aluminum.

The Rhodes have three adult children: Dana-graduate of Grace College and Seminary, Daniel-student at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and Iraq War Veteran, and Darcy-student at Grace College and Seminary.

When asked why the Rhodes went to the mission field, their immediate response, “because the Bible says, ‘Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.’ (James 1:27)
