Kids Alive International - Christian Care for Children at Risk: Myanmar Cyclone Relief

"We have nothing to say but 'Thankyou.'
Thank you very much for your great help!"

-Kids Alive Myanmar Field Director

Kids Alive Provides Myanmar Cyclone Relief

As of August 1, 2008, our supporters have contributed more than $100,000 to Kids Alive Myanmar for relief purposes! Their kindness, thoughtfulness, and care for the children caught up in this disaster are greatly appreciated!

Any donation we receive for Myanmar is bringing much needed food, clean water, medicines, clothing, bedding and shelter to the “kids” of Kids Alive and hundreds of other needy children and adults in the Irrawaddy Delta. We will continue sending funding each week in order not to draw attention to our relief workers who are working in difficult and somewhat dangerous circumstances.

Please pray for the victims caught up in the disaster, especially the children, our staff, and particularly for our field director and his family.

In addition to the relief Kids Alive is providing, we are busy repairing the damage to our homes and schools in the cyclone region so that our children can return to some sort of normalcy.  While most of our children’s homes are outside the devastated region, the lack of food and skyrocketing food and fuel prices throughout the entire country make providing continual care for our 2,000 Kids Alive children extremely difficult. Living costs have increased on average by 30 percent as a result of the cyclone. Please pray for us as we endeavor to raise the extra resources required each month to maintain our standard of care for these children.
