Ministry Locations Zambia joined the Kids Alive International family in 2001. All sectors of society in Zambia are being affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic, especially the 20-to-45 age group that is normally the most productive economically and bears the weight of child rearing. It is predicted that, within the next ten years, a large percentage of the adult population will die or be dying from AIDS. This means that many children will be left without any parent to care for them. Since Kids Alive International entered Zambia, we have expanded to six children’s homes and three community schools. As the AIDS crisis dramatically changes countries like Zambia, more homes will be added to be able to care for more precious ones. Zambia is currently served by national Field Directors, Jimmy and Ivy Kongwa. Each of the children’s homes has national house parents and support staff to love and care for the children and provide for all of their needs.
