ZAMBIA HOME

LOCATION

The Lilato Children’s Home & Preschool (Lilato means Love) is The Lilato Three Children’s Home & Preschool (Lilato means Love) is located in the small town of Mongu, Zambia. Zambia is a land-locked country in southern Africa, just south of Congo and north of Zimbabwe.

HISTORY

The home was started in December 2003.

FACILITIES

Kids Alive Zambia is currently renting a house where the children live with houseparents, Moses and Melody Kalenga, until they can obtain permanent facilities. There are currently 12 orphans and at-risk children living at Lilato Three.

PROGRAM

The Lilato Three Home provides home school teachers who assist the children with their education.

FUTURE

It is predicted that within the next 10 years a large percentage of the adult population will die or be dying from AIDS. This means that many children will be left without any parent to care for them. More children are scheduled to be admitted to thehHome. As the AIDS crisis dramatically changes countries like Zambia, more homes will be added in order to rescue more precious ones.
